Hi gang- Posting for a semi-retired adventure racer who is moving back to
New Zealand... she's taking time as a new mother though we hope to get her
and her new family into AR in a few years :) Race on, -Jen
Down-river racing kayak for sale, $100.
I am selling my beloved DR Kayak, with much regret. This is quite possibly
the ugliest kayak you've ever seen, covered in patches and scars from 15
years of whitewater adventure. However, it is watertight, and comes with
inflatable floatbags for when you inevitably take a swim. It's got a good
rudder system on it, which makes it really responsive for up to Grade 3
water, and it weighs only 25lbs. It was made by John Jaycox (a legend in
whitewater boat design !) back in 1991. This kayak is awesome for AR
training, because it's very tippy, so if you can keep it upright in strong
winds or swells, you should be able to handle anything they'll throw at you
in an AR (I used it in several Big Blue and Xtreme races). It needs to be
picked up from Cupertino, near 85 and De Anza, before I move back to New
Zealand next month. $100 cash and I'll throw in the equally ugly
spraydeck.
