Parting comments.

 

After last weekend's course scouting trip on Mount Diablo, I can promise you
a physically tough, navigationally intermediate (challenge is more in route
choice, than finding the CP), and unbelievably scenic course.  Both courses
will feature a 1,200 ft NON-technical ascent of a beautiful, seldom
traveled, canyon.  There is water on the course, but teams will benefit from
hitting the course early in the day, as temps are rising.  Poison Oak is
present on parts of the course, but can be avoided by paying attention.
