Gearing up for Primal Quest or need something a bit tougher, longer? The
12hr. version is just the ticket!
Anyone who has spent some time at Henry Coe State Park knows it's the
perfect adventure racing playground. Remote, big hills, incredible mountain
biking, and lots of off-trail options to take advantage of your navigation
abilities. What makes this event unique is that we will be using the same
format as the first race in the NORCAL-AR Series - namely, point-based
scoring where you get as many checkpoints as possible in a given time frame.
How it Works?
---------------------
For each section, there are a variety of checkpoints (CPs) placed on the
course -- worth different point values. You need to decide which CPs you
want to go for based on the time allotted for each section. The more CPs
you're able to reach, the more points you accumulate. You choose your route
and the order you want to reach the CPs... just don't exceed the time limit
or you lose points. While speed is important, route choice, strategy, and
precise navigation are paramount.
